Art in Your Home :: Lisa Golightly

{In the picture left a painting by Lisa's dad}

Art in the home of Lisa Golightly from Kiki&Polly

A: Art means to me…an experience.  Whether it is looking, listening, it doesn't matter.

R: Reading books / blogs / magazines …I read far too many blogs to mention but some of my current favs are: Field & SeaBlissCory GibbonsFrench By DesignHingeRemodelista .My favorite magazines are home magazines, Living Etc., Inside Out, Elle Decor, Canadian House and Home

{the large horse painting above the fireplace by Lisa herself is actually based on a drawing her son made}

T: Trends I see in art or graphic design are…I always notice things that relate to how I'm feeling and working.  So because of that, I am seeing a lot of abstract, 'washes' of colors and shapes.

A: Artists I admire are…My dad, I see something new every time I look at his paintings.

N: Never will I … stop making art.

D: Dreams for my own work are about…I dream that I keep pushing myself and that my work continues to evolve and grow.

P: Projects I'm currently working on are…I'm rather into painting horses right now and I have my hands full with my portraiture work and a couple exciting projects.

R: Relaxing I do at / when / if…If my art is my passion, horse back riding is my obsession.  It has been all my life.

I: Interesting art-places online are…The Jealous CuratorDrooelI-want-a-print

N: New in my home is…The pillows on my sofa by  Elizabeth Siegan available at hinge

T: Tomorrow I like to go to…as it is likely to rain (again), I'd say coffee shop in the morning followed by a look around some pretty shops, a little art supply shopping them home!  I am actually quite a home body, especially if it is dreary out.

S: Studio, my studio is…My studio is finally emerging out its mess, which is a relief.  I dream of an open white, light filled space separate from our house that is completely dedicated to making art. Someday….
