We are Going on Vacation with Courtney Adamo from Babyccino Kids

and we are we going to: Positano, Italy for sunshine, delicious Italian food, and gelato every day!

Whom are you bringing along?

The entire family! My husband, Michael, and our three children: Easton (7), Quin (5) and Ivy (3).

Where do you stay?

We always rent a villa somewhere in town. We usually find loads of great options on the Summer In Italy accommodations site. What matters most to us is that the villa has a large terrace, so we can sit outside and enjoy the stunning views out over the sea.

How do you get there?

We fly from London to Naples and then we ask a driver in a big van to pick us up and drive us down along the winding Amalfi coast to Positano (the drive takes 1-2 hours).

What do you bring?

Swimsuits, beach shoes, sun hats, and summertime clothes!

What can the kids bring?

The same as above. The kids don’t usually bring much more — we end up buying beach and water toys when we get there, and that keeps them entertained.

Where do you usually search for travel ideas?

I like the UK travel site, i-escape – they always have such great hotel suggestions. I also get ideas from friends who have recently traveled (these are the best kinds of tips!).

Any travel tips?

Because our families live so far from us, we are always traveling ‘home’ to the west coast of America. People always ask how we deal with the jet-lag, and my biggest advice is to just not let it scare you. Just set your clock to the new time zone as soon as you arrive and try to adjust as quickly as possible (wake in the morning when you should and try not to take irregular naps!).

What are must-see places in the world according to you?

Gosh, this is such a tricky question. I feel there are so many places I’ve never been that I would love to see. Our most favourite holidays are: Matakana, New Zealand; The Great Barrier Reef, Australia; Italy (Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast especially); Babington House in the English countryside; Muxima, Portugal; and Bainbridge Island in Washington State, USA (we have a family beach cabin here!).

I also think Amalfi Coast and Italy in general are a great places to visit with kids!!!mmm…enjoy it!

We too love our summers in Positano: Dinner at Chez Black or Le Tre Sorelle and watching the kids play on the piazza … And a fresh lemon granita – only the one from the lady with her carrello near the bus-stop.
With all this sweet memories we decided to bring the beautiful ceramics from Amalfi Coast home to our tables. We found an artisan who makes them for us in our own designs: simple, simple but with a little twist. Every day it`s like having a piece of Positano home in Munich.

We are in italy now with my inlaws that live here. We go every year for the entire summer. The coast is very kid friendly with the beach of course, but in the city weve found it challenging to say the least. Any gems are few and far between…
