Christmas Pom Pom Baubles DIY
DIY Christmas pom pom baubles by Laura Murray
Pom-poms are a kid’s craft classic. They’re easy to make, super fun and great ‘busy’ work for waiting rooms and long car trips. So with the holiday season fast approaching, why not get the kids involved and use festive colours, fun patterns and metallic yarns to create these Christmas pom-pom baubles! They’ll make an adorable addition to any tree, mantle or centre piece!
What you’ll need:
* Card stock + a printer
* Red, white and silver yarn
* Red or silver cord
First, Download Christmas pom pom baubles template and print it out onto a piece of card stock and cut out the donut-shapes (this part might be need a bit of adult help – cutting that inner circle can be tricky). Layer two card stock donuts and start wrapping the yarn around. To create different patterns and effects, just follow these guidelines!
When the donut is completely wrapped in yarn, take your scissors and cut around the edge, separating the card donuts as you go. Once you’ve snipped around the entire edge, take a piece red or silver cord and wrap it around the middle of the pom-pom in between the two card donuts. Pull it tight and tie it securely. Thread on a few beads then make a knot at the end, creating a loop.
Now it’s just a matter of fluffing out and trimming the pom-pom into a neat little sphere and hanging it up! Too cute!
Try out different types of materials and colors for different looks!
