The Ladies Who Made It Online: Erin Loechner
When we think about The Ladies Who Made It Online, Erin Loechner of 3 (!) blogs — Design for Mankind, Design for Minikind and Clementine Daily, definitely comes to mind. I mean, she taught the Bloesem Class “The Secrets To Blogging Success”! We go way back.. Erin and I connected in 2006 when I first started blogging so I remembered how thrilled I was when I finally got to meet Erin and her family in person when she came to Singapore in 2014 for the class. Mother to Bee, a dear friend and the true pro when it comes to social media and blogging, who better to ask to share when it comes to making it online?
What’s something you never expected to happen when you first started blogging?
I never expected blogging to open doors to international events, to my dream job of penning magazine articles and producing photo shoots and curating art shows and writing books and starring in our HGTV.com show. But I suppose the most unexpected door it opened – the most important door it opened – was the door to myself. Blogging introduced me to others, yes, but mostly it introduced me to me. By writing daily, by choosing to practice things that brought me such joy, I began to recognize myself. I began to know myself, to find myself, and to accept myself. It has been a blessing beyond measure.
