Kid & Coe’s Instagram Tour of Paris
You know what it’s like to travel with kids — it can be especially tricky to find comfortable and suitable stays and even destinations for everyone in the family! And Kid & Coe gets that. They offer some of the most kid-friendly travel stays in the world, so who better to ask for travel inspiration? Let Kid & Coe’s photo editor Bénédicte Lassalle bring you on a little Instagram tour of Paris, complete with shots of her own mini tour guide children Lila and Paul to show you the way.
“Le Jardin du Luxembourg has the prettiest wooden boats that kids push with a wooden stick around the basins. It has a nice last century feel. My parents used to come here when they were little and did the exact same thing. You can also find them in the Jardin des Tuileries. On that note, did you know – wherever you go in Paris you are only a 5-minute walk from a métro station and a playground. They are everywhere. Sand box, play structures, guignol, slides, swings, you name it! It’s a good way to make friends and meet the real Parisians.”
Truly Parisian experiences
Fun for all ages
“Le Jardin d’Acclimatation is a small outdoor amusement park. The kids, of course, love it. You can play with water, ride a camel and have a ride on one of the many merry-go-rounds. You’ll find something for all ages. And they have a little train that takes you from the subway to the park. For a similar feel, there are many merry-go-rounds in Paris but the one at the bottom of the Sacre Coeur in Montmartre is probably one of the prettiest. You can’t say no at least two rounds! We also love the one at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower.”
Soaking up the atmosphere
“If you are up for a gentle walk on Sunday, I recommend the Canal St. Martin. It’s really pretty and not that touristy. There are numerous beautiful shops and cafés, and you can even go on a boat tour on the canal. On Sunday they block the road so it’s really kid-friendly – bring a picnic!
My favorite shop in Paris is the concept store Merci. I go there for a coffee or for lunch (or both). It has the perfect lunch place downstairs, and a great selection of clothes, accessories, kitchen and office stuff. Bonton, next door, is a concept store for kids toys and clothes.”
