The renewed diversity in the yarn scene has given rise to creative talents like Morgan Hale. A deft weft weaver, Morgan’s craft requires a huge amount of patience and labour as winding a warp which is probably why it is considered very unique even at a time where fibre art is gaining popularity. Working on a large floor loom, winding a warp itself, in preparation for the actual weaving, is deemed an act of achievement!
To get through this laborious set up, Morgan uses the view she gets from her studio which overlooks Golden Gate Park. The ever-changing landscape informs of her compositions, and eases her into an enjoyable weave. Morgan also sources for raw materials to use in her works, ensuring there is an organic feel that comes along with every bit of fabric.
Fibre lovers of the world would know and appreciate the amount of effort being put into each crafted piece — all the time, effort, love, and thought that goes into one. So why not stand in camaraderie with the rest of the “wool gang” with Morgan’s ridiculously cute skein pins, in summery colours, no less! It’s due time you show the world what a fiber boss you are.
